High BLM's stock chip

I just bought this car about a month ago, and Now that I have it running I thought I would do some datalogging...

It is a basically stock 87 Formula 350, The Block sequence number matches the VIN, I know the engine was rebuilt, so I would imageine its .030 over. I am using TunerPro RT.

I plugged into the ALDL port and my BLM's were high with the stock 87 chip... I would say they hover around 143ish.

My question is this, were the stock BIN's that far out of whack or should I be looking for a problem... I suspect that its possible the O2 sensor may be acting up, Or should I be looking for another problem that would cause it to be too lean.

143 isn't too bad on a 18 year old car with an unknown history, but it's worth looking at a few things. Is it possible that a set of 24 lb/hr injectors have been installed in place of the stock 22 lb/hrs? Does it have a stock MAF with screens intact? I had to tweak the MAF calibration curve in the PROM to get the BL values back around 128 with the my descreened, definned MAF. Hopefully someone more experienced than me can expand and give you some additional areas to evaluate.

Screens are intact, I had to replace the MAF, so I know for sure.

Would not Larger injectors lean toward lower BLM's? As it should richen it up more. The injectors appear to be rather stock as I had to replace one of them due to it having no reading with my Ohm meter.

Thanks tho, good thoughts... Any other ideas?

You're right. Had it backwards. Another Monday. One other thing to check. Where's the initial timing? There is a relationship between timing and AFR.

I do have to change the timing, apparently I had the timing at 0°, I just figured that out today, so I need to make it at 6°

I did not think that would make a big difference, On second thought if I am not getting full detonation then it would tend think its running rich amd try to lean it out.

Thanks...
