$32 $32B or $6E

So I did a little search and read too much till my head started hurting so i figured i would ask for help.

I'm branching out into tuning TPI now instead of TBI. I'm working with a 165 ECM and looking around there are different defination files for it, $32 $32B and $6E and maybe a few others as well, I use tunercats and it lists those 3... unlike my TBI where it only lists one, just wondered the difference, or if one offers something the other don't?

Thanks in advance.
Shaun

6E is the most recent mask GM used for the 165 ECM. It has many more parameters than 32. I think the only "advantage" 32 might have is that it is easier to directly adjust fueling, but in 6E it becomes pretty intuitive with the MAF tables anyway. 6E eliminates the troublesome cold start injector and modifies all 8 injectors pulsewidths for cold starting and warmup.

It matters. What year is the car/wiring harness? Does it have the cold start injector on the left side of the intake manifold?

AFIK, for the TPI motors,

32 is for the 86's

32b is for 87-88

6e is for the 89's

I'm running a 6e with a bin for an 89 350 in my 86, I lowered the injector constant, turned of the vats, and lowered the fan on temp. Otherwise its a stock bin. I've had it in there for about a week, so far no problems, and it runs better than it did with the 86 bin.

If you are going to use a 6e mask, you have to use a bin that was written for the 6e
