TunerPro RT Questions

There are a couple things bugging me about the new build.

First off, when I have my ALDL cable connected and I plug it into my laptop via USB then open TunerPro, when I click connect I always get an error. Then I have to exit TunerPro, unplug the USB real quick, plug it back in, start TunerPro again and it then works great. This happens EVERY time.

Also, when I have my data window open for viewing my current ALDL feed, when I go to edit the bin and I open say the VE table, when I click on the VE table window it won't show up in front of the datastream window. VERY annoying that I have to close my datastream feed to view any windows I want to open/view/edit.

If these are settings I'm just over looking, PLEASE let me know, lol! The old v3 of TunerPro I always used before never had these problems and I'm using the same machine and OS.

Thanks!

other than getting something about an IO sys problem or some similar message the very first time i start TP only after a new install, don't have a problem with any errors on opening or connecting with mine.
are you using the AutoProm with yours?

i checked on the editing the bin with a data window opened part, i get the same thing too, i never noticed it before, but i haven't edited a bin while watching data in a long time, the last time i did that was probably with 3.09 or so.

No AutoPROM, only the USB ALDL cable. The error I get is the exact same you would get if you tried to connect with no cable at all. When I plug in the USB cable though, XP makes a noise when I plug it in and unplug it and I always wait for that. Weird.

It's the cable that came with the BURN1 that I've been using for over 2 years with no cable problems so far...

What error? Sounds like a USB driver issue. Can you try uninstalling the driver and re-install it?

When you say "datastream window", do you mean the ALDL setup window? If so, you don't have to keep that open. You can close it and everything ALDL related will still function. That said, the ALDL window should definitely fall behind the main window when you click the main window. Is this not happening?

I tried reinstalling the USB driver too.

Not the setup window, the data window that shows you the feed.

Make the window smaller. It has scroll bars just for that purpose. When I made the data windows fall to the back, people complained about that. I like it better with the tabbed solution.

Correct however on this new version I can't move the mouse to the edge and it allow me to resize the window. It always just shows up the same size which is just about the entire empty space.

Hmmm, I'm thinking I'm just going to reformat and reinstall everything and hopefully that will solve all this bugs I've been having because I never had any problems with any of this on the same machine until my last restore.

No need to format and reinstall. Just delete TunerProSettings.dat from the TunerPro install directory, then open TunerPro again.

Yeah but I still have the USB cable issue and I was having issues with my BURN1 too a little bit ago. I'll try one more time with the .dat file and reinstalling the USB drivers. I think after I uninstall the driver, I'll have to go to the Windows directory folder where the driver repository is and manually delete the one that's there so it doesn't automatically reinstall again. That way I can be sure I'm only using the driver version from Moates.net and not the updates one I got from MicrosoftUpdate.

Then I'll reformat if that doesn't work
