Is this everything I need

Ive done a lot of looking around and am now ready to buy everything I need for programing. I have been looking on Moates.net and believe I can get everything I need from there. Here is what I am planning on getting. Let me know if this will do it.

APU1 AutoProm Package: USB Version, C1 Atmel AT29C256 Chip, G1 Memory Adapter: TPI Etc, and I plan on using TunerPro RT.

If anyone has any suggestions or if I need anything else please let me know.

THANKS A LOT.

decisions, decisions, they can drive you nuts

you really need to get a ZIF socket with the G1, otherwise you'll probably damage your chip by pulling & replacing it after a burn.
or instead of the G1, you can go with the GP1 that comes with a ZIF & 2 chips

i went with the GP3 & got the remote swtich, it lets me try more things with less chip pulling.

Also, get a few spare AT29C256 eproms, or go the GP1 route. That way you can simplify things, by burning one, while the other is in the car. They are inexpensive, you'll be glad you did. I got small labels from OfficeMax. This is an easy way to keep track of the bin files and what are done to each one. You can log them in a notebook as well. Dont want to get mixed up on your tuning! You can get the Aries ZIF, to adapt it to your G1, or like DENN_SHAH stated, go with the GP1.

Well after some more looking I decided to go with the GP3. One more question though, what Windows programs will TunerPro work with. Im looking for laptops on ebay and dont want to get one with Windows XP if it TunerPro needs 98 or even 95. Or is it compatible with all of them.

THANKS again for the help.

i did have some connection problems with the USB port on my other laptop that runs windows 98, i don't remember if i ever got it to work or not.

Sorry to barge in on someone elses post, but, I just want to Data Log and get some info from my engine before I go all out and buy the programming equip. I downloaded TunerPro RT and stopped by Moates and bought a ALDU1 USB to ALDL convertor and an ALDL connector . Said one would not work without the other. This should be all I need to start, correct?

Win 95 is not supported because the registering application needs items that don't work on 95 from what I've seen from Magnus on this.
I've run on Win98 1st and second edition with no real problems.
The newer laptops don't have serial ports which I prefer to have as well as the USB. Gives you alot more flexibility when logging and emulating. Example is that I can run a program from the serial port like DM while emulating on the USB with TP.
