Okay, the 1227730 is same as a 1227727 except 727 is for underhood mount.
$8F was the 3.1 Turbo 89-90 Grand Prix using the 730 ECM.
with a repin would this be an option for boost on a 90-92 TPI car? anyone ever gone this route?

yes the 3.1 was DIS ignition, but ECM still used the same TACH input and same EST output for timing control, should work.

It is a viable option. There is a hac of it around that has semi-commented code along with all of the calibration parameters. The important I/O will all match up (O2, EST, MAP, CTS/IAT) as they are hardware dependent. For the DIS to distributor only need to change the initial timing and the min/max timing parameters.

Be sure to flip the max retard, max advance, and reference angles around to what ever the values were in the .bin that was used in the 730 memcal. Yes, the signals are all the same, but the code runs differently between DIS, and Distributors.Originally Posted by busta9876

I was just looking at alternatives to using the 1227749 pcm for $58.Originally Posted by gta324

Turbo Grand Prix's used 1227727, same thing as 730 except underhood usage.

I like the 730 ECM better for high-z applications. It is usually cheaper and easier to find. The $58 code is just about a drop in replacement for the $8D code.
