Starting to Burn! What to buy?
I am going to be purchasing the equipment and software to be able to Burn Chips. I need to know if there are better programs and hardware I can purchase. Better than the setup described in the Tech Forum article "How To Burn Your Own Chips"? Are there updated items? I would like to obtain the complete setup for under $200. Let me know where the good deals are please.

I went with the Pocket Programmer for my burner, Datarase II for my UV eraser and TunerCat for my Editor. I am very happy with all of them. If I was to do it over again, I think I would rather have spent a few dollars more and got the UV eraser with the automatic timer. I just use clock with an alarm, but I would prefer to have it "set and forget".
There are other equipment (check out the "links" at www.tunercat.com). But they tend to be more expensive and with more features. As a parallel port eprom burner, the Pocket Programmer was the least expensive that I could find. I found others, but again, they either did nothing more yet cost more money, or had a lot of neat features, but a lot more money.
Try a search at www.google.com and tell us what you find.

Dataraser
Are both the cheapes and most reliable I've had..
I had some Needhams stuff and on the faster PC never did work right.
Pocket Programmer runs off of the Parralel port so can be used with a laptop easily
