Attention Glenn

Hi Glenn,

I read on a previous post that you had ordered and received a dozen 29c256 chips. Are you interested in selling some of those(2 or 3). I read in earlier posts that you had troubles ordering from the states. I too am in Canada and would like to avoid those hassles and delays. If you are interested please email me at L98_GTA@hotmail.com.

Thanks

Or if someone else knows where to get either the 27c128 or 29c256 chips in Canada that info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Poncho. But, the AT29C256s are not a direct replacement for 27C128s. I am hoping to tag up with a friend in Washington State to see if we can make them work as I have an SD car and I cannot test to see how they work on a MAF car.

As for a 'group purchase' for Canadians maybe this is something we could arrange in the not too distant future. I would like to confirm whether or not the AT29C256s can be made to work for the MAF cars before I proceed with it.

As for my current "excess purchase"of AT29C256s, I have already taken care of that. But if I can make the AT29C256s work with MAF cars, or have someone confirm that, then we could arrange something either with the AT29C256s or a 'mixed' order to hit the 'minimum' order quantity from Insight.

I was sure that I read in an earlier post that the 29c256 will work for the MAF cars. It's just a matter of making sure the bin is loaded into the correct starting address or loading into both ends of the prom. There was even talk of someone loading two different bins and jumping the prom to be able to use both bins (economy and performance) mind you a good perfomance programming should also be economical!! (performance = efficiency = economy)

But all this is second hand knowledge and I have not tested any of it. I am just starting my trek into prom burning and trying to amass as much info as possible. I would be interested in your results when completed. Also do you know any canadian company that sells prom programmers at a good price? The pocket programmer in the states is 129.00 USD but with the recent weak showing of our dollar I would rather buy canadian.

I just received a spare computer, stock chip and hypertech chip. The hypertech chip is a socket that will allow me to easily remove the chip for replacement with my "new" programmed chip.

I have a friend who is willing to burn my chips for me so I would like some chips sooner than later so I can try the arap bin...also I have the SVO injectors so I would like to modify the flow rate in the bin to reflect the larger injectors. I am babbling...

Well I will try to track down some 27c128 here in town this week to get them done by the weekend then I can look into the rest of the equipement...

In the meantime I await your results
