355 TPI Issues
Well im starting to get my feet wet inti tuning. I have read some but have alot more to read. Im working on an 88 TA with a 355 mild cam no air tubes in hedders. From what I read do I need a heated o2 with no air tubes? I got the car to start emulating the ARAP.bin on the ostrich with VATS disabled. The car starts first crank but after a little bit the idle goes rough and the car wants to stall. I need to be able to pass emissions so I cant have it run too rich. The smog pump is going directly to the cat and Im considering removing the EGR stuff. I know these mods have alot to do with the tuning but I dont know where to start. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Try the stock prom for now unless injectros are differant. We run my GF's 355 with stock Prom and no air tubes. Passes perfectly. I see your in the area. Were heading up to Brunswick car show on Saturday if you wanna come up.

I'd guess 95% of the header users have had to go to a heated O2 sensor to keep the car in closed loop while idling. My 91's original one-wire O2 sensor would also go offline at 60-70MPH if the weather was pretty chilly after I installed the headers. So now I use a 3 wire AC-Delco sensor. Never a Bosch.

Check the fuel pressure to be sure where its at, TPS and IAC reset correctly as well. Then go after the IAC steps to reduce them at idle. May just not have enough mechanical opening of the TB.
Definatly 3 or 4 wire o2 with the headers. AFS-74 is the Delco number.

Did you disconnect the 9th "cold start" injector? You should if you're using $6E ARAP, rather than a $32B bin.

Im pretty sure i was using a $32b bin. I found some issues I didnt take care of. My base timing is not where it needs to be. I cant see the numbers only the notches. I have it way advanced atm. Where should that be? This is a little off topic but anyone know where to get a computer cable for a vette dist cap in coil? Mine is missing that wire that plugs into the module inside. I'll be at the car show tonight in my truck. I need a sniffer test and plates on the car.

ARAP is $6E, not 32B. Set timing to 6 deg BTDC (that matches the base timing in the chip).
Missing the computer controlled timing wires? Must run like a dog. Can post an ad in the classifieds, look on Ebay, junkyard. How could you be missing those wires anyway?
