EPROMS from JDR erase to all 00's PP wants FF's What can I do?

I have gotten (12) 2732a eproms from JDR microdevices. I do a blank check wen I first get them and the PP says it see all 00's and expects to see all FF's. is there soethign that I can change to make the PP work with this?

Thanks,
Lars

Man, you sound like you're having lots of troubles. Are you sure that you have selected the right chip ("27")?

I had that problem with some crappy Cypress Semiconductor chips (27c128). Apparently the chip Mfr does the inverse zeroes to allow for higher speed. Don't know what the deal is, just what I ended up learning. Did you check the sub-menu for other proms? Maybe one of the options under there could suit. Are the chips faster ones? The ones I had problems with were 70ns.

Nope, the chips are 200 ns. The Vpp is 21v and JDR is a bunch of screw-ups!!! I recieved 12 bad chips from them. I called transtronics and Intronics and they both said that it sounded like the chips were bad. I called JDR 2 times today and got something resolved. i'm shipping back my first 4 chips, they overnighted me 4 more to replace the defective ones. The ones they sent me today were defective also. So they said that they were going to overnight me 4 "intel" chips from a different batch - complimentary. then if those are good then I can send my sencond set of 4 back to them and get 4 more from the same batch as the "hopefully good ones" that I'm supposed to get tomorrow. I hope this all works out.

thanks for your help with all this Bu!!****!

I've had good luck /w/ Jameco. If you call 'em up and bug 'em, you can get selective on what brand, speed, etc chip they send you. That way if you know a good one (say, TI or AMD), you can check to see they have it on the shelf and request it. They were real nice in this respect, even for a small order.
