MAF grams per sec. question.

Does anyone know what how many grams per second the stock mass air flow sensor should range between idle and wot? I seem to be getting a couple different readings and I would like to know which ones to program into the chip. Thanks.

5-8 at idle,
230-255 at WOT.
Will vary alot by engine, tune, and brand of MAF. Not all MAFs read the same

I kind of figured that but I seem to be getting to about 3,500 RPM and this thing totally bogs out. I'm only getting between 119 and 116 at wot. It's the stock bosch yet that came on my 1987 350 Camaro. I just don't understand why I'm not getting more. The fuel pressure isn't dropping off. I just don't know what else to check.

Oh yeah before I forget again. It's a 383ci. with a Mini Ram intake and a 58mm throttle body. I had a modified stock(Heat sinks and screens removed) MAF on it and it's reading the same.

Sounds like the MAF is dead.
Try driving the car with the MAF disconnected, if it runs as well or better the MAF is dead.
Tap on the MAF with the motor running, if it misses MAF is dead.

Leave the screens in the next one. You want more flow go to the 1227730 in the 90-92 SD setup

Do you think it could be two MAF's dead. Because I have a stock one on there now. One's stock and one's modified. But I'll try both your ideas tomorrow. Thanks.

I had a friend with an '87 vette and had the exact same problem. GPS would only get to about 110 at WOT. Couldn't figure out what it was. We put a new MAF in and everything was instantly better. GPS was around 210-220 at WOT after that. His vette is bone stock.... so those numbers seemd right.

Re: MAF grams per sec. question.

Whats up guys. I appear to have a similar issue. Previously i tried a bosh hotwire maf and when i started the car it bucked as if it had a huge cam installed, then the fuel fuse near the battery blew. The only thing that changed that was to install a maf from a1 cardone. A few weeks later I noticed that the car would bog under WOT and the drivability has steadily gone down hill since. I went to my local advance autopart store and got a remanned bosch which allowed the fuel fuse to pop, so I returned that and i am still using the a1 cardone. I dont know whether i should chance another bosch maf or what.
