cannot connect to ALDL with new chip!
Can someone please advise me on why my new burnt chip will not allow TunerproRT to connect to my ALDL, I had a hard SES light and couldn't even read it with the paper clip trick? The burnt chip is ARAP 6E verified with buffer, 165 ecm. I unplugged the chip and put my store bought chip in and I was able to connect and datalogg etc.
Another question, how would I know if I'm in limp home mode or not? Thanks!!

Limp home?
No closed loop, your car will be extremely rich with that cam/setup and if it even starts it will literaly rock the house on the ups and downs of the engine.
You could have a bad or corrupted bin or bunring software.
Try a new download of a bin from somewhere else on another chip and see what happens.
If it still exists, try reloading your burning/editing software.

Thanks for the super fast reply, I do appreciate it Jeremy. I tried two different chips, both 27sf512. Chip address 00800>00FFF, Buffer 000000>007FFF. I like to re-read the chips and verify myself that the data looks correct and everything seems fine. I tried each chip on a totally different computer with a different ARAP origin (moates instead of TunerPro) and I still get the same situation. The second go around I set the mask ID to AA to disable Checksum. This is my first real attempt with DIY.
The car will start (immediately) with the new chip with an SES light... So I plug in the old chip to read the codes and I only get code 12. I am using Burn1 with a zif socket adapter and memory adapter, all from Moates.

make sure you erase the 27sf512 before each re-write.
verify it is blank
verify after program.
008000 -> 00FFFF

Thanks for the idea but I definately erase the chips and verify blank before I program them. Could a bad zif socket or memory adapter cause this? I can read the chip after I try it on the car and everything looks like how it set it. Thanks!

There's something wrong with the new chip, or the socket, like you said. If the SES light doesnt blink once when you first turn the key, then you know you have a problem.

I just got my new order in today, I bought a new memcal adapter, zif adapter and new chip and I'm still getting the same thing. The SES light will not blink. I tried plugging them into the stock memcal and I get the same thing. The stocker and aftermarket chips both work fine. The stock chip is APYU, is there any compatibility problems to ARAP? Thanks!

You're using the wrong offsets. Buffer offset should be 0-3FFF. Chip offset should be C000 - FFFF. Read this:
