I just bought a used TPI system complete with computer....I opened up the computer to check everything out...and see what i was getting into when I started to get in the prom burning scene....I see the chip and everything...but theres a sticker on it that says "Jet Perf Prod. Part# 19112-S. Off road only!!!" It came from a 1991 Transam 305. First of all....what can you tell me about this chip?? Second...is this the famous #3 option in the prom burning introduction article?? The chip is facing up...and then theres a brown and blue thing on the side of it....never seen a stock computer...and the images in that article arent working....a little help please...thanks

This sounds to me like a Jet Stage II aftermarket chip. If you are going to start making your own, you should search the diy-efi.org bin archive for your original bin file and start with that one.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by mult68:

This should be a speed density setup since it's from a '91 TransAm, so the image below is most likely to be the right one to start with. Since it's a newer than '88 car it came from, you will have to disable VATS or you will never get it to fire.

I was told it was easy to wire up the existing VATS in my car to the new ECM...and everything would work including VATS...true?

If the TPI is going in a car that have VATS thats another story, then it will work just fine.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by mult68:

Yes, it is option #3. You have a MemCal adapter and the Brown and Blue thing on the side is the actual MemCal.
