I am having problems connecting with craigs software

first I can connect to a budies car no problem so i dont think it is the laptop or hardwaare.

so here is my problem

the ecm just throughs FC F0 some times is will link but only work for a few seconds then stops

it is really intermitent

but if i use the snapon scanner or diacom(which i dont own either) it works perfectly

is there any ideas any one can throw my way?

Update still not working

- I hooked up my old 386 PC it linked up fine

- on my laptop P2 300 windows 98 SE

if I try to log on in windows i dont see any data at all using CM software

use hyper terminal there is data bursts


log on in safe mode prompt only
all I see the FC 00 data

I NEED HELP before I need a new laptop

Hey, What kind of interface are you using? Could you maybe send me the link to a schematic? Give me any details? Mine won't sync up.

well I got it working

It seems that Craig's software doesnt like Win98SE

I loaded up Win95 and it linked up no problem.

perhaps if CRAIG reads this he could let me know what was going on . does any one have it working on a win98SE machine?

 

I wrote the program to work with slow PC's through MS-DOS. That it sometimes works with MS-Bloatware and high-end laptops is just mind-boggling.

The original objective was to keep the cost of the laptop needed down. I don't know why it works sometimes, and not others. Wonder how it will do with WinXP...

 

Do you want me to test it on XP ?
