Im going to attempt to burn my own prom...am I going to have problems when trying to get everything in proper working order due to me using a 3400 stall converter from the get go? This is on a new engine that hasnet even beeen cranked. WIll the 3400 create problems when trying to get the off idle performance?

Not really. Your engine will be less sensitive to changes at low rpm and low loads. With a nice cam and heads, you will not be using the lower load cells much. With my 2,800 RPM converter in my Van when I had the 312, almost the second I left the line, I was above 3,000. All the way through the gears it stayed at more than 3,500. It would go 750 to 3,000 up to 6,500, shift, down to 3,500, up to 6,500, shift, down to 4,000 rpm, back to 5,000+ I was trapping at 95-96 MPH in a 5,300 lbs Fullsize Van with a NA 305.

 

I'm glad to see that you have decided to get into eprom burning. Unfortunately, I am having some "internet problems" today so I cannot help zero you in on some chapters to read.

The above is the equipment and software you will need to burn. There are a variety of opinions of which is better, so I won't go there.
