730 or 749 ECM for TPI ProCharger?

I have a 91 5.0 TPI 5 speed... The much later plan, when the motor dies is to get an ATI Procharger, etc...

I have the 730 Ecm and wanted to ad the nvsram upgrade to tune it...
I understand that the 749 ecm is for turbo cars... is it necessary for a supercharged car with proper ecm tune, proper fuel injectors (no fmu), etc...??

You could use your old 730ECM just repinn som wires and load a $58code bin in it (from a Syclone with 749ECM) and start tuning.

The only reason to swap to a 749 is if you plan to modifiy it for P/H injectors.

So I don't need to purchase a 749, my 730 an be modified physically and with a different ecm program and "become" and 749 ecm?

"The only reason to swap to a 749 is if you plan to modifiy it for P/H injectors."
What is a P/H Injector?

I was just wondering, I know that the basic procharger systems have an FMU which boost the fuel when pressure is increased (more air, more fuel), so I thought that if new bigger injectors were provided and the correct mapping for air / fuel, I wouldn't need the ecm to monitor boost... ??

Just a heads up - if you go the $58 code route, it is not yet supported by that nvsram module (though other folks are working on it).

You might want to consider Moate's osterich unit instead if your long term plan is to go boosted and switch to the other code base.

Mind you, if your plan is to just live with an FMU to deal with the boost, then you can use the nvsram module and keep your existing ECM and code base.

Forget the 730, and 749,
go with the EBL.
It's got the proper coding for what you want to do, as is.

you would think "he" who did it would help out other fellow thirdgenners and maybe even setup a donation for it.

86Z and I would test for sure. I'm leaning on him to help me get my pig running with the 730 code. I gave up on even attempting to start with the &58.
