Re: Ve's good/less power???

i think its going to be in your timing.
you said in your other post that timing is as low as 13 in some areas, & no higher than 29 in others.
in my bin, my lowest timing is 19, highest is 40.
a few degrees can make a huge difference in performance.
i was fighting was some ping, 1100~1200 RPM, 80~90 map, i pulled the timing from around 22 to 16, it cause a noticeable loss of power. i could feel the car stop pulling in that area.

i think you need to zip the bin to post it.
also, you would need to post a data log with it.

Re: Ve's good/less power???

I have noticed loss of power with reduced timing also, that's to be expected I would think.
I also noticed a loss of power when my BLM/INT numbers were 128 +/- 5, but when I was running a a tad more rich I had more power.
14.7 AFR is the best for emissions, so it makes sense that a slighty rich average of BLM would make more power.
I have changed my stoich closed loop AFR to 14.3 and tuned my VE table with my wideband (targeting 14.7) then added 1% VE to everything (shooting form the hip) to try and get it to 14.3. I haven't messed with my chip for about a month, but now that it's really hot outside I'm gonna get back into it.

Re: Ve's good/less power???

Hey thanks alot guys thats great info as usual. I have just realized that if I use a different xdf there is a fair amount more timing in it. So tomorrow Im going to try that one with my curent ve's and see what happens. As for the 350 is a stock bottom end 4bolt./ 8.5.1 compression/461 heads/comp Xe256 cam/ 212int/218exh duration @.5lift/110lsa/447.454 lift/Ceramic shorty headers/Edelbrock Air-gap rpm manifold/61lbs injectors at 20 psi-113bpw/Afpr-jet/Msd coil and wires/ultimate tbi mods. That should cover it I think. Thanks again guys and Ill let you know how the xdf/timing change works.
