not long joined great site hope someone can help
im helping my mate with his turbo V6 commodore with 808 ecu running the $58 code now I dont normally play round with the $58 code and its quite different than the $5D and other commodore tunes ive been tweaking.now we burnt a copy of the bbzb tune with the reference angle changed to 69.96 to suit the crank sensor placement changed no wires plugged it in starts runs doesnt idle its really rich duh its for a 4.3 litre tune I know running with a bit of gas on though but rough then it must of got to a temp threshold for a function and struggled till it stopped plugs wet
now im wondering where the best place is to change the BPC as theres no injector size constant in this tune is there I have the egr turned off can I still use the BPC V's EGR to suit the injectors ill try find out the details on what size they are.

chears mate been serching hard and come to that conclusion we changed the BPW under fueling too but might put that back like it was we were just getting pretty low on the BPC got it too start fast but im sure the iac must be pulling the wrong way oh yeah by the way im not even in the same country as the guy im helping makes it a bit harder but it definitly looks promising if it gets going better with the iac changed round well be away i noticed others have had the same start then stop trouble turn key back off iac moves back too base setting car starts again then stops gotta be it did get an engine light at one stage breifly but thats probably cos we got the bpc pretty low in the end and it was just about too keep going but probably saying lean o2 chears mate

ok set the Base Pulse Width back too 0.79 and added an extra 20 degrees to the spark advance vs EGR and she fired and now idles not enough timing to match the spark reference angle idles like the standard tune but theres a check engine light the light goes out then soon after the engine dies think it might be a rich lean code but after code check no codes reported get code 12 flashing if the error code system stll works on this ecu we have the BPC VS EGR back up close to where it started life in the bbzb I think we at 0.0700 hes going to buy a faster baud ecu so we can get the laptop hooked up and see what really happening you can give it a tiny bit of throttle and it will gain revs but not a lot then just stop no farting around just off

ok after much stuffing round emailing bins and finding out the guys 2bar map sensor he bought was a 1 bar map ive now started running the code on my vp commodore v6 which only has 1bar map at the moment still got a check engine light but have it idling it starts to warm up and the revs get lower and it starts to run rough but if I just crack the throttle not enough to come out of idle tps% it runs nice again so iac isnt moving have to rewire it and get a 2bar map can get it too rev a little but trying too avoid revs at the moment anyone know which way to wire the iac to suit the 808 I presume I just swap it like people have done for the 165 running $58 .

anyone ever ran this code with distributorless ignition ive set the ref angle to the same as the $5d and max advance but now I read something about max retard being changed or it will lock timing at a base setting im looking for help guys i need to get this thing working im sick of just trying things and dont want to do any damage im thinking of rebuilding the turbos i have here and doing my own car if i can get the code too work i just need to get it so i can command some timing and get what is commanded back showing on the timing light please help someone before my bigends hate me

so we got someone to run the tune up on a test bench connected iac stepper to test bench.didnt move.turned connector 180 didnt move.the problems he found so far are no iac no transient accel fuel with tps or map.no fan.he thinks the internal circuits of 808 and 749 must be to different.but the 808 is the same as a 165 without high speed aldl isnt it back too the wiring diagrams I go

It pretty much goes over the whole DIS angle theory.
Bottom line, the cal is more of an issue than the code.
Also, be advised that there are a *lot* of errors in some of the Tcat and Tunerpro definition files that are floating about.

thanks a lot turbo dig great too get some feed back i had a look at that webpage i think our commodores run a little more cranshaft sensor advance like 69.96 but if i run like he did with -9.9 and -70 it should be closer than where i have been should i take another 9.96 degrees off his figures i could tell that the timing was either high or low and not moving .im planning on the $59 in the end if i get it going .so its just my settings not the code at all nice to know my mate has my dfi so i cant test today but in a few days ill be into it cheers mate.

i oppologize now for the swearing but turbo_dig you bloody legend the $58 now runs sweet on my car i couldnt enter the figures as - figures so i changed the xdf to show hex values entered in the 2 values off that page and viola shes running great no locked timing at all lovin it chears for the help too everyone who replied if anyone want any info on the whole idea of it feel free to post up im not going far from this site in a while

The diy-efi wiki is a great thing. We're trying to do similar things with the code59 stuff, hopefully we'll be able to contribute useful stuffto the diy one.
I think there may be others who would benefit from your experience, so if you wanna write up what you ended up having to do to make it work, I'm sure someone down the line will appreciate it. Post a bin, also, if you can.

Which tunerpro XDF are you using (The one from NWSTP, or elsewhere?)
I'll see about getting the range correct so you don't need to use hex.
It's kind of a "set it and forget it" thing, so it's probably too late to be of much use to you.

heres the bin i ran today set on 1bar not 2bar running on my standard vp commodore 3800 v6 with a 1bar sensor runs great for a first start would think it was a factory tune still need to find out if we get an output to wastegate and fans and a few other things but its a runna have ran it on a 2bar today as well slight hesitation off idle nothing major just some ve work plus he had the turbo in the way i didnt so yeah not much of an adjustment too get it going very well
im running the $58 2&3bar beta 0.09 xdf i did try the 58RRJC .ecu or whatever it was but it has checksum issues

Is the $58 / $59 code doubled in the bin?
And if so what pinout for a 7165?
I have a 85 Maf ECm i think a 7808 I remember reading it has the better driver and can do P/H !

I am going to be releasing a new $58 XDF based off all the work I did on the $59 XDF this week along with a new ADS file for 58. (Maybe Tonight)
There are some errors in the $58 XDF that this release will fix. I am going to split the 58 in to a 2 bar and 3 bar XDF. There are a ton of MAP variables that need to use the correct formula when displaying it to you. So I have to make 2 sperate XDFs.

I havnt changed a single wire as yet its still wired exactly like vn or vp holden commodore v6 and i am running the holden memcal unsure if this helps much or not at a standstill till i get my car up and running then get the turbos on .
