TPI swap with problems

I have been in the process of swapping TPI into a Nova and I am haveing a few problems. I fired the thing up last night and it ran decently well, seeing how most of the stuff came from a junkyard, but i am haveing a few problems. The car does not want to idle, it will run but it "hunts" for the idle and will almost die and bring the RPMs back up. I pulled the codes and this is what i got. 22,33,41,and 43. would anyone have a good place to start in diagnosing waht could be causeing my problem. Thanks

Need a bit more info -
1) which ECM are using and BCC?
2) is it SD or MAF setup?
3) Engine type, size, etc

Re: TPI swap with problems

sorry for the lack of info
1: iam using a 730 ecm with a vats delet
2: It is a SD setup
3: 350 cid engine with rebuild and factory roller cam
ONe more thing is this swap is being done with an aftermarket wiring harness.

Also the engine is not want to take the gas hardly. you give it gas and it takes for ever to respond and it will not rev very high either, i dont have a tach hooked up but i would say the most would be around 2500-3000 rpms. i havent really had a lot of time to mess with it either so i havent tried anything.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? What is your fuel pressure? What type of pump are you running?

I have checked for vaccum leaks and found some, before i posted this the thing would not even idle, but it is very possible that i have missed something. the fuel pump is an inline pump from Napa off of an older ford van. I am not sure about fuel pressure i dont have a gauge to check it with.

Re: TPI swap with problems

If it is an early 80s Ford van with sequential fuel injection you should be fine. If it is from a van with throttle body injection it is too small. TPI hates vacuum leaks. Go to Auto Zone and see if they have a fuel pressure guage you can rent.

Re: TPI swap with problems

Checked fuel pressure today and it is staying at a constant 45 psi. I will hopefully get a scan tool hooked to it tomorrow.

Re: TPI swap with problems

Check all your mechanicals are good before going too much farther.
Reset TPS and IAC, try to locate vac leaks, timing set to 6* with bypass connector unplugged, fuel pressure is good etc.
One thing that came to mind when you said it wouldn't rev.
Are you sure you have a V8 memcal in the ECM?
