Tuning a kit car

History
ok so here goes, after a few nights of reading days of driving and a bottle of pepto. This car is making me sick .
I have a kit car with a 92-93 v6 super charged engine. i have been using a pontiac bonaville from that year as my starting point and hope that the ecm is from the same, i guessed at this from the block numbers and size of the sc pulley. then researched it over the net.

engine is stock except a cold air intake system, when first started cold will run all the way to redline wot no problem, as it warms up wot goes away and starts bucking and spitting leaning out. (13.7) timing could be doing something as well but i can't see that.

I am running moates chip extender with ostrich, unfortiatly datalogging has error packets so nothing to see there. a/f read with wide band sensor. some info from snap-on scanner. Tuner pro, code 5b4

Question,
i have tuned before using same stuff on a 91 syclone, so im not that green to it all.

would like to turn off egr as the car doesn't have it installed, Would this be under egr en/disable %TPS?

Should i adjust maf table to fix the wot warm/hot lean issue?

Thanks is advance,

Re: Tuning a kit car

Bad O2 sensor?? Have you tried running warm with open loop only?

Probably should really try to figure out what ECM and Engine you're using. Getting no ALDL data might be from a mismatch.

EGR can be disabled several ways, usually try all ways, such as enable TPS, enable Coolant Temp, and set all commanded EGR duty cycle to 0%.

Did you copy the original bin?

Also, get a fuel pressure gauge on there, and make sure it's keeping pressure when hot (strange things can happen).

no, i tested it with a lab scope gd, plus its new.

92-92 3.8 superchrged, ecm #16141470, code 5b4

no the ecm is expected to be chatty per mansur

Thanks i will check all those

yes

Have done this for idle, not done while driving, however the wide band o2 shows gd air fuel 12.2-11.8 during boost wot.

Does it continue to spit back lean if you hold the throttle open, or is it only when you are moving the throttle quickly? If so, it's the AE (Acceleration Enrichment) that's probably too lean. It can get too lean from having too good of an air filter system installed, larger throttle body, or even if the TPS is bad.

Any error codes? Is there a check engien light hooked up.

No ALDL is often a sign of limp mode.
