make sense out of datalogs?

well i got a considerable amount of datalogs, and dont know how to make sense of them, or how to start... with my new intake the blms are down to 105 where it likes to rest, then it will jump back up to 126... at idle it may go to 90.

now with my other intake blms are 126-128 all day long. so i know i need to tweak for this single plane intake. as its getting feed by 2 injectors per cylinder instead of 1 like a dual plane.

im still working on startups... part throttle or light throttle is excellent. mid-wot still needs to tune, and im working on that with the help im getting.

my base timing is about 5* i would estimate from the reading on the balancer. tune is set for 6*... i was thinking about setting my base timing to 10* so i can see it dead on, and hopefully startups be easier. once i set the tune to 10* initial timing.

i need help, experts or datalog readers help! i need to know where to go next, and i dont want to back peddle as im trying to get the blms where they need to be, so i can work on the mpg tune, and timing etc. which i haven't even played with.

Re: make sense out of datalogs?

I'm guessing that you're exporting the datalogs to a spreadsheet? What helped me was to re-sort, on the spreadsheet, by RPM, BLM, and MAP....that way everything lined up as it changed.
Is that what you're asking?

Re: make sense out of datalogs?

A good tool to use is Scannerpro.

I like to use the histogram feature. You will need to take more logs if you use SP, I don't think it does imports of Tunerpro logs, at least my version doesn't.

Remember, if you make a change to your configuration, you need new data.

There are spreadsheets out there, to work with a SP histogram, to build a new fuel table that you plug back into Tunerpro, which is a nice tool to use also.

If you'd like, I can send you an example. It's been a while since I've worked on the car or been to this site so I coudln't tell you where I got the spreadsheets, or where to get them now.

Re: make sense out of datalogs?

Well, I didn't mean the spreadsheet software, but the spreadsheets themselves.
