Disabling VATS in Tunerpro RT?

How do I disable the VATS system using tuner pro rt?

I am using the axcn bin from a 91 vette, with the $8d xdf from moates file directory.

I've searched and searched but couldnt find a great answer, just bits and pieces here and there.

Is there a way to totally disable the vats system using tuner pro, or do i have to disable it in tuner pro and also modify the wiring in the car to disable it?

I do not have any alarm system in my car currently and i dont believe it came with one from the factory (91 camaro rs).

If tuner pro is to be used, which flags do i check/uncheck? There seems to be 8 of them that can be modified in the $8d bin.

thanks

from the S_AUJP_V4_ .xdf

Option Word 1 - Bit 4 - VATS

1 = VATS Enable, 0 = Disable

that will turn it off. no wiring needed.

is that the 8d xdf? I am using the axcn with $8d from moates file directory.

Any insight on that?

Thanks for your help.

But it seems that just disabling one selection will take care of it all huh? I say that because there is 8 vats settings on the 8d xdf.....

yeah, that's from the .xdf that goes with the s_aujp.4 that they guys here at 3rd gen put together. it is for the 8D bin. I'm not sure what xdf your using to mod your bin. but do an item search for that name. if it doesn't come up. I can look up the address and you can add it to your xdf.

just out of curiousity, what would happen if a vehicle not equipped with vats did not disable it? Would it make the ECM freak out?

Oh, and thanks for the help. I do have the 8d bin so I'm sure ill be able to find it. I only have 8 selections, it's got to be one of them.

Your '91 is factory equip'd with VATs. Check the ignition key for the little chip in the upper portion of the shank.

How might someone disable thier VAT System, w/out using a"Tuner".
My Steering Column's tilt mechanism-DIDN'T...
One of the wires ,running to the KEY-chip reader, was severed and
shorted-out.
Put in new column. Same Key/tumblers.Same key reader.
Throws code 46. Starter relay has hot but no ground.Ground is controlled through Pass Key Decoder Module, which I CAN NOT locate on my RS.
The VAT also shuts down my injectors ! Please help ?

use a dmm to measure the resistance of the pellet in the key. then take that resistor value and there should be an orangle loom in the steering column with two wires in it...white and white/purple i believe, disconnect it from the ignition cylinder and add that resistor on those two wires...

Sure the passkey module was not blown when the wire shorted out?
