$85 XDF questions

I am running the 16147060 PCM with the $85 mask. The only XDF file I could find for TunerPro was from Moates site but I do have a few concerns/questions about it. It seems that the selection of tables is limited and if I run a comparison from my stock chip to another it brings up a lot of items that say (I recal as I am not in front of TunerPro right now) "location not defined".
For Example: In looking at the tables to work on my bin I can not find anything that resembles an AE table.

Have others who have worked on the $85 mask had a similar experiance? Could it be that whoever created the $85 XDF just did not complete the hack with all the tables? I am thinking about buying TunerCat to see how that program differs. Any experiance with TunerCat/$85 ?

thanks,

Re: $85 XDF questions

Common to not have every calibration entry, let alone maybe even half of them in an ECU/XDF file. For the $85 my guess is that there would be some 700 entries if all were included. Many times it best to just get the hac for the mask and add any additional ones you may need.

Note that the '7060 isn't that popular of a PCM. So finding a well populated ECU/XDF/ADS may not be easy.

RBob.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, I have a hack for $85 (also on the moates site), and started to make an xdf for it, just haven't had much chance to get too far, too many projects on the go.

I saw Grumpy was running this PCM/mask but I am newish here and he seems to not have posted in a couple years. From what I saw he was running TunerCat.

Yeah, sadly Grumpy passed away a few years ago.

I was hoping that was not the case.
I looks like he had some great contributions around here as part of his legacy!
May he rest in pease.

There are a few individuals who have had a major impact on the world of GM fuel injection tuning. Grumpy is at the top of the list of the people who have contributed so much to this community over the years.
GM fuel injection tuning for us would be several years behind where we are today without Grumpy.

Re: $85 XDF questions

let me look through my projects. I may have an xdf for $85 and $31. (both use the 4l80e tranny). But I think we only put the items in there to be able to tune the tranny since we were piggy backing the tranny ECM off the 749 ecm running $59 so we could control the shift points. So I don't think we have all the tables in there. I will look and see what I have.

Either way, it will be a help.

Re: $85 XDF questions

I played with it last night and it seems to be a good complete XDF. There are still a few undefined items, but not nearly as many as the previous version.

Thanks to anyone who had a hand in creating this XDF!

Re: $85 XDF questions

It looks like they added alot to the transmission deffinitions.

There are a few hac files that might have more. I haven't gotten into it enough to know.

I'm considering buy TunnerCAT to get a look at their $85 definitions. If I do I'll post back some feedback.

They also added quite a few contstants to the XDF. I played around with TunerCat on the free trial but I just prefer, or at least got used to TunerPro. On the TunerCat web-site you can get a list of all the defenition line items available. In fact I posted the list on another thread recently. I would like to see any continued development on the $85.
