Ostrich 2 issue w/Vista
I have a brand new Ostrich 2, using TunerPro RT on a laptop with windows Vista. TunerPro reconizes the Ostrich hardware and allows my bin to be uploaded, the Ostrich is not connected to the ecm at this time. I have the check sum disabled under tools/preference in tunerpro and offset at '04' for 'AA', also tried offset at '08'. When I try a verify it fails. Connecting Ostrich to the ecm puts ecm into Limp Mode. If I download the bin from the Ostrich and try to view it using TunerPro it has all senseless info in the tables.
I am using a bin which I have burned to a chip and the engine runs fine. I am using the 6E XDF (165 ecm) def file and the checksum is disabled on the bin using the 'AA' code.
I also haven't figured out how to get tunerpro to connect to my ecm using Craig Moates usb convertor and aldl plug, I have downloaded the drivers for Vista but unable to get the right com port connection?
I had all this working at one time using a different laptop running windows XP but some F*** head smashed my window out and decided he needed it more than me, laptop and ostrich gone, hope he burns his motor up if he ever figures out how to hook it up!
Anyway, any ideas on the Ostrich? The aldl connection is probably a com port issue I need to figure out. I have 4 usb ports on the laptop, should it reconize the aldl connection reguardless of where I connect it?
Thanks for any ideas.

Re: Ostrich 2 issue w/Vista
If you still have the XP install CD I would dump Vista and install XP.
The only thing that I know of with Vista is to set TunerProRT and any other software you are using with this set up to run as Administrator. This fixes a lot of odd problems under Vista.

The "verify" will fail, when "disable checksum by uploading" is checked. It verifies against the current bin that shows a different value in that byte. You can manual change that byte to "AA" and it should verify then.

Tried it with verify disable checked and unchecked no help. Ran TunerPro in administrator mode.
