I need chip help. I can't get the car to crank.

I have a motor and chip that has ran flawless until now.

The only change is a cam. I know that this is a big change though.

I have TUNERPRO, But I don't know alot about this.

I raised the numbers in the startup enrichment vs temp table but nothing happened.

1227730 ecm
custom chip
holley 4bbl intake
4150 msd throttle body
24# injectors
edelbrock rpm heads
11to 1 comp.
355 motor
cam 114ls dur @ .050 224 230

new cam
112ls dur @ .050 230 238

Car will run if you pour gas down the throttle body.
It will run until you cut it off.
no problems

BUT
When you go to crank it any, it won't run without pouring gas in it.

What do I change in the chip and how much.

I have ignition fire, I have power to the injectors on both wires while cranking. I have changed distributors to get another pickup coil. I am lost.I am thinking you can richen fuel up for startup, Don't really know?

Thanks,
Justen

Hang on.... you're saying more or less that if you prime it manually, it'll start then continue to run - or it'll only run as long as you pour it in?

You are not getting distributor pulses or VATS is enabled.

If I put gas in it manually, then it will run fine. Everything does like it is suppose to. When I shut it off it will refire as long as there is fuel there. Once the fuel is gone it won't start.

I have replaced distributor, tried another ignition system, more injectors, played with the chip some, but to no good.

When you turn the key on does the fuel pump prime? Electric pump I am guessing.

Yes, fuel pump primes. 50# pressure. I took the plugs out and they look dry.

I have changed all the following. I am stumped

I changed the chip, injectors, distributor, ignition system, computer, and now the harness.
Still will not run on its own. You put fuel into the throttle body and it will run all it wants. Everything works right then.

I can't believe I didn't think of this....

Hook up a meter, and crank the engine. What's the voltage after a few seconds of cranking (during the crank)? If it's dropping too low (bad battery, bad ground, bad power, etc etc) your ECM will shut down and then of course not fire the injectors.

Also confirm TPS Voltage is not over 80%.
Clear flood mode will not provide fuel.

Re: I need chip help. I can't get the car to crank.

I have the battery charger hooked up so it won't kill the battery. I will have to check the TPS percentage.

I am thinking it doesn't have enough cranking fuel. But I don't know which area to change in the chip. I have TUNERPRO. Is it Crank Pulse Width vs Temp?

Re: I need chip help. I can't get the car to crank.

I found the problem. Thanks JP86SS. I went to check dist. pulses and I got them to the ecm but no injector cycles. Unplugged TPS and they cycled. Checked and the TPS wires were wrong. It was reading wide open throttle and therefore putting the ecm into "flood mode" and all is fixed now. Beating my head against the floor now. These things are so fun aren't they.

I appreciated all the help from you guys. I am glad that people still care about the community.

Thanks,
Justen
