How can I add fan control?

I'm new at tuning so bear with me, I want to be able to control my fan with my PCM. Is there a way to add a output, or since I dont have AC a way to change the AC clutch enable to be temp related and not user requested and just rewire the AC clutch signal to my fan relay?

The truck was not equipped with a E-fan and does not have wiring for it.

Knowing the ECM and code you're dealing with will help emensly.

If it's the '95 S-10 that is in your signature, I would have to, at this point, say, while it may not be impossible, it will likey be something that no one or next to no one has dealt with doing.

Sorry, it is my S10 but it is a 16197427 ECM from a 94 full size, using $OD and tuning with TunerPro

Re: How can I add fan control?

Heres two different ways to go about it:

http://209.62.24.218/forums/showthread.php?t=340317

Edit: The site I linked to is involved in a server change, hopefully they'll work. I'll edit this post when the server change is complete.

Re: How can I add fan control?

Its possible to control the fan with the PCM, but this requires actually editing the software code. I have a hack for the $0D posted here on DIY-Prom that assembles, and can be edited. On the TBI board, my MAF code for the TBI/CPI PCMs has a basic fan control routine that can be applied, but with the trucks that have E-trans', the outputs are pretty much all in use. Finding something to control the relay may mean having to part with something else, like the CCP or EGR.

The other option, of course, is to change over to the MAF code. It runs better than SD on some setups. BUT, the MAF code does not support emmissions due to processing time constraints within the code.

CCP = Charcoal Canister Purge.
