What did I do wrong?

I just now went ahead and finally soldered in my g2 adapter as well as programmed a chip with the ANLU bin file from moates.net and when I turn the key, the CEL blinks like mad. From what I had read, that was supposed to be something bad right? I thought I read that it could be from the program on the chip being messed up so I tried a different version and even th program that was running before (ANTT) and it's still blinking like crazy! What the hell did I **** up? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to try everything I can to fix this tonight so I can go to work tomorrow. thanks,

Eddie.

Re: What did I do wrong?

I just posted a bunch of pics to my photobucket account from the solder work. Maybe I goofed something up there? http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/e...sirus5164/ECM/

Re: What did I do wrong?

What chip are you using?

Are you using the correct offset?

The offset has to be correct to place the bin file at the "end" of the chip.

How exactly do I use the Offset? I'm using FlashnBurn.

Re: What did I do wrong?

Looks like you may have some soldering issues. In picture 9 it looks like the middle 2 pins may have lost the solder pads on the boards foil pattern. If that is true, you may have to carefully scrape the coating off of the foil on each side of the prom adapter pin and bridge across with a fine strand of wire soldering it to the foil on each side and the adapter pin.

Re: What did I do wrong?

I thought that was burned adhesive from where that quark square used to be attached

Update: I put the original chip back in and the CEL stopped blinking. I can assume that the problem lies with the burn right?

Yes, it is an offset problem then.

Re: What did I do wrong?

Well, I can not be sure from the pictures, but it does not look good to me. Also, Six_shooter may be correct that you are not using the device addresses correctly. I have not used this setup so I can not answer the details on how to do that.

Re: What did I do wrong?

Update: I went ahead and reburned my bin file to another flash chip. I don't know if the other one may be FUBAR or what but it's running fine with the other chip.
