Burn / Reader Loaner

Is there anyone around Jacksonville, FL that can read Hypertech prom .bin for me? I just bought the PROMinator and need to get that .bin because it works pretty darn good with all my unknown mods.

Thanks,
George

Not sure if it can be. May be locked. I doubt it is publicly available as proprietary. Check craig moates website under downloads. I had one once and I believe it was said all they do is lean out WOT and request that you physically advance the DIST a few degrees to attain global ADV.

Re: Burn / Reader Loaner

I assumed maybe I shouldn't have, but I figured if my dinosaur ecu could read it then a newer burner could. I hate to dish out 85 bucks for a one time use, I spend to much already. I thought about starting from scratch, and I did last night but then my computer froze.

Main problem is that the car was running pretty good then leaking injector (venom), no numbers on these things. Local guy flow tested and I bought Accel 26lbs @ 14.3.

Re: Burn / Reader Loaner

Thanks Duts. How did you get the bin file? Burner/ Reader? Is it auto or manual? can I use the $8d mask?

Got the BIN from reading the chip I have. I'll have to check to see if it's auto or manual.

Re: Burn / Reader Loaner

Well without the correct mask it might be useless. I looked at the ve tables and they are not right. maybe that's where the propriety comes into play.

Re: Burn / Reader Loaner

The M/AT flag is unchecked. Looks like it's manual?

Re: Burn / Reader Loaner

Okay, now I thinks it's auto. I've use a few differnet versions of 8D XDFs and they all give funny numbers. I'll try to read it again and see if I get something different.

Edit: I looked it up on Summit and it's for a 1991 305 TPI auto car. I still can't get it to read and give numbers that make sense.

Re: Burn / Reader Loaner

Wow, 1st post in five years. Anyhow, I believe way back when it was discovered that hypertech and other aftermarket chip tuners would scramble the addresses of the tables. If you would, the mask is no longer 8d, it's whatever they wanted it to be as far as where the tables we normally work with are concerned. The routines and such are the same, they just physically move the information. Thats why the tables you are looking at dont seem to make sense.
