? About MAF Ecms

I've been curious, if you have a MAF ecm ( say 165) that is to be used with a MAF car can you eliminate those tables in the tune and use as a SD system? or use a mask?

There is an Aussie SD BIN that can be used in the '7165 ECM. Can't recall the exact Mask ID, but something like $5B comes to mind.

Note that it only supports 160 baud ALDL.

This mask has been discussed here quite a bit. So should be able to turn up information on it here.

Thanks Bob. I was just curious. I didn't know if it was as easy as just removing the tables or if you had to indeed use a mask. If I get some time I'll have to search it out and read more about it.

BTW my tune as come together quite a bit. A few areas still left to work on but its a totally different car. All this and in just a few weeks I'm putting in a 388 roller..it never stops

It also gets easier as you work on the tune. Good to hear that it is running the way it should.

Tequilaboy has done a pretty good job recoding the '165 to run a ford MAF. He's running a powerdyne blower on his C4 with success if I recall. Might be an option for you, especially if you want to keep the dash specific components in your C4.
