Confusing chip readings, please help!
Hi Guys,
I finally took my first steps at PROM tuning today. I use a custom chip from TPIS in conjunction with their G1 adapter & the GM factory prom (for limp mode).
I took the TPIS chip out of the G1 configuration and put it into my BURN2.
Using Flash & Burn, I then read the prom and saved the data to a BIN file. I then reopen the BIN using the $6E.xdf file in TunerCat to review the info.
However, I'm confused about the readings from the TPIS chip. The factory PROM shows what I would expect a standard spark table to look like. However, the TPIS chip values are all the same? I even tried hooking everything back up into the G1 configuration, reading it (using the HDR1 adapter) and got even stranger readings.
Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? Surely, the car would run terribly if the spark readings were all the same???
Attached is a pic of the spark tables for comparison.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

It's probably a buffer start read issue.
I know I sometimes have to try different settings until I get it set-up correctly.

Thanks Six_Shooter! Both my start addresses are 000000 and end addresses are 00FFFF. I'm using the 27C512 chip.
What buffer do you recommend?

There are offset settings for different sized bins an EPROMs on this page: http://support.moates.net/2010/04/05...using-offsets/
