Need help, trouble with $32B in Tunercat

Hello, I read the chip with my PP2 and it tells me I need a $FF, which sounds suspicious to me. I think I got a bad Memcal. The check engine light was on, no fuel pump prime, and the fans ran when key on, engine off, like it was in limp mode. Now with it not recognizing the #32B file, I'd say the latter. It would start (eventually) and run ok, but like it was in limp mode with no timing at all.

So I have all my Moates stuff, piggy-back chip adapter and two chips, can I just start out with a stock bin file and not worry about the bad chip on the stock Memcal? Or do I need a good Memcal? And where can I find a stock file for an 88 305 TPI? (not begging, just asking.)

Asking for stock calibrations is entirely permissible. Check Mike's site:

http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28

Can also hit www.moates.net, in the fileman area.

As long as the MEMCAL you are using is for a V8 you are good to go. The reason is that it sets the injector firing rate per the number of cylinders.

Thanks! I'll try to find the one I need. I have been tuning 2L turbo, Quad 4, and 60deg V-6 for 10 years, except for a LT1 Impala, this is the first V-8 I've done! I have a dozen Memcals, but obviously the will not work.

One more thing I noticed, this Memcal (88 305 TPI) does not have a knock module. Is there one in the ecm? Or is that another clue I have the wrong Memcal?

The knock filter is mounted on the firewall by the brake booster and relay rack. Thin black plastic square about 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches.
