Gonna burn a EPROM. Need help selecting a Non-Cold Start MAF bin
Hi there guys. Can someone help me and let me know which bin for an IROC supports the MAF Sensor and has the Cold Start Valve deleted? Thanks guys.

The 6E code doesn't use the cold start injector (9th injector). I removed mine physically and still ran the car for about a month before putting in the new chip.

I had this chip code from when I bought it from TPI parts.net before I was doing my own chip burning. I just took that chip, copied the bin out of it from the AutoProm, and then continued to tune from there.

Cool. Well then Im gonna have to investigate on which MemCal is programmed for a 350 auto 3.27 ratio, MAF, with no CS injector.

The gear ratio isn't affected by the BIN, it affects the driven gears in the tranny tailshaft, which affect the speedometer. I think ARAP is a good one but needs alot less spark because the spark tables are for aluminum heads so they are much more aggressive and if you have iron heads (all thirdgens came with iron heads stock) then you will almost surely have pinging. I would take your BIN now, copy that spark table, and then use ARAP with the 6E xdf, and copy that spark table info in there and you should be fine. Oh and the injector constant might have to be changed to 19lbs as well (if that's what you currently have). Double check other critical things too but it should be fine.

Well In my 86 I have a 350. everything is 350 swap so I have 21 lb injectors. Sounds like a lot of work to do the swapping of the spark tables and such. I dont now much about DIY PROM programming. Isnt there any section in Tuner Pro that allows you to switch off the CS Injtr?

You can turn off the cold start injector by unplugging it
Its not computer controlled. The $32b code in your car now actually adds more crank fueling than the ARAP bin. Unplug the CS injector, and see if it still starts easy, if not, add in some more fuel to the crank fuel multiplier vs reference pulse table in TunerPro.

I've 'heard' that if you leave it plugged but not blocked off that it could drip extra fuel in the cylinder.. I used mine for awhile before plugging it though, and it seemed fine.. To be honest I noticed no real difference between having it, and not having it when starting the car.

A block off plate is relatively cheap.. you have to block it at the runner and at the back of the fuel rail. There are a few kits out there that will do the job.

Is there also a block off plate where the 9th injector goes too?

Re: Gonna burn a EPROM. Need help selecting a Non-Cold Start MAF bin
that's where it blocks off.. there and in the back of the fuel rail.. i did it awhile ago but from what i remember, there was instructions on where to do this that came with the kit. Also, you need to unplug the connector. I just taped mine up and hid it instead of letting it hang.
The back of the fuel rail was a SOB to get out, because it's so tight back there. I took a mirror and used that to see what i was doing. Oh and don't forget to release the fuel pressure before doing this!

Ok. Well before I get too ahead of myself, I'm gonna check into a bin file and arrange with a friend so that he can program a EPROM for me when I find it. Thanks man.
