Datamaster Datalogging
I am trying to use the set-up that I bought from moates to datalog my car using datamaster.
http://www.moates.net/aldu1-and-cabl....html?cPath=97
When I start datamaster up a try to record the aldl data, it doesn't pick anything up. Do I have to register with Datamaster before I can datalog? If not, what am I doing wrong?

Re: Datamaster Datalogging
I have never used datamaster but there site states 20 uses for free. Tunerpro will work with this as well. the 10k ohm will be needed if this is a 870 or a 165 ecm

I switched it to 10k ohm but still no change. What could cause it not to read?

Do you have the right Datamaster for your car?
there are several different ones. It must be the same "mask ID" that your car runs.

Re: Datamaster Datalogging
I downloaded version 32 which is for the 86-89 tpi cars. I will try to set the com port and see if that does anything.

It's likely your cable is not installed correctly, happens all the time, when it's plugged in go to printers and devices to find it and see if VCP is checked and also needs to be COM 3-4 for TunerPro and I think DataMater too.
Or just move your USB cable to another port on your laptop and try. Mine moves?

Re: Datamaster Datalogging
Are u using the correct usb drivers? need to use the ones that came with your moates cable.Do this. Reboot pc and get into setup/bios. Make sure com port 3 is selected for serial port. Turn off or disable things like modem, infared etc. Anything that could be trying to use com ports. Also in Datamaster try disabling handshakes. Also adjust timing by going to: options, advanced, serial communication timing, aldl timing. Adjust aldl timing to like 195. Make sure Datamaster is using the same comport u set in the bios of your pc too. I use com 3. Does your cable come with a 10k jumper?

Wait a minute. Your car is an 85' right? They use a different ecm than the 86-89. U have a 1226870 ECM. Try using Winaldl or freescan.
