jump start affects ECU?

Dead battery last night. Started in morn on what I thought was a fresh charge as I keep a 2 A tricklecharger on and found battery dead at 700pm. No accessories left on BTW. I got a jump start engine fired right up. I realized my idle sped is 2000 rpms as was the cruise rpm 2000 or higher.

Does the ECU raise idle to 2000 on low battery voltage when running only off alt?

Car not driven today as I pulled battery and bought a replacement to install tonight.

Re: jump start affects ECU?

I've had my car die on me a few times and I used jumper cables but it started normal, idled just as it would without the jump, not an EBL though, just the 7730.

I check for vac leaks saw none. Once a nipple fell off TB but it was nowhere near 2000 maybe 900. seems the ECU is asking IAC to open and stay open. IAC leads are soldered to harness. No pigs.

You have an Lockers board right? Does that have battery backup memory on it? Maybe when the battery died it corrupted the bin file.

Low voltage of a dead batterey and car running off altenator can cause issues. Probably gone with battrey replacement.

Yea I bet when I drop in battery it will be fine. Disconnecting battery may have done it as well. Past few weeks car would not rev over 5300. should go to 6000. My mechanic friend says a new battery may solve that as well. Sick batteries under load hinder top perf. He says he had similar experiences at drag strip.

No need for a backup battery, Flash is nonvolatile.

Check alternator and make sure it is operating correctly. I'm sure you're familiar with oldred95's +2 year saga on not being able to rev past 4000 RPM.

Re: jump start affects ECU?

Disconnecting battery and repalcing with a new one/flashing in a new.bin fixed it.

Not been able to run up to 6000 rpms as of yet.
