Help with BIN XDF $0D MASK
Help with BIN XDF $0D MASK
Ive need someone to help me sort out these terms in a way that I can understand them. I've read and read and read but just makes my head hurt.
BIN: Best I have gathered is short for Binary and is the factory programming parameters.
XDF: Seems similar to BIN but isnt? Confused.
$0D, $0E etc Mask(s): Lost on this one as well.
I currently am running a 1227477 ECM which I would like to replace with the 16197427 PCM via the re-pin procedure. I have down loaded TunerPro RT to attempt to download some BINs or XDFs to open and familiarize myself with spark and fuel tables. However when I download a BIN and open it in TunerPro either the tables are completely blank, maxed out with a number such as 93.89 in all map tables, or just random numbers that don't go together. I have been able to open some XDFs and view the tables, but I dont understand how the BINs and XDFs work together if they do.
So I'm hoping someone can put these items in a terminology I can understand. I can read the tables and understand them, and I think I've got a grasp on the hardware I'll need to read and burn proms.
Thanks Brian.

Re: Help with BIN XDF $0D MASK
Have to have correct mask like $42 for 1227747 and $0D for 16197427 bin files.
Have a read at this, it seems to help guys starting.

Re: Help with BIN XDF $0D MASK
Thanks Mark, that's the thread I've been searching for! Basically the XDF is the translator for the BIN code and possibly thats why there are more than one translation even for the same MASK? The light over my head is dim, but its on hahaha.
One more question, is this cable compatible with TunerPro RT?
