Is Hypertech memcal causing my problems?
After I got my burning hardware, I found that I have a Hypertech memcal in the ECM. The car runs fine on the Hypertech, just takes forever to start up (no cold start valve).
I have it plugged into the Moates adapter correctly.
No matter what bin/mask combination I run through the Ostrich, it just won't run. Sometimes I get limp home mode. Sometimes it cranks immediately dies. Sometimes it runs if I hold the gas and the exhaust fumes are thick and smell like eggs.
From what I've read, inserting the memcal unit into the Moates adapter bypasses the chip on it and only allows access to the limp home circuit. If that's the case, I can't figure out why the Hypertech chip would be causing problems.
Should I track down an actual stock memcal and start over? I'm at a loss.

Are you getting the CEL/SES blink at key-on, engine-off? That verifies that the ECM is running from the Ostrich.
