12° of knock retard(730 ECM)

Well I put my AutoXray on today hoping to just lean it out a little because I was getting 110 BLM's at idle.
Then I noticed my knock counts! My gosh, they were just clicking away. Sitting in the driveway just revving it to 3500rpm I got 12° of retard. I didn't get any with the TPI, and I don't remember getting much(little) after the LT1 intake swap but now, wow! This is not good.
Here's my spark tables.

Does it also do this when you have a load on the engine? Were you in PE? What is your base spark and PE Spark?

Yes, I get the knock retard(as seen omn AutoXray) just sitting in the driveway revving it up and while driving.
For base spark, I assume you mean under the hood. It's 8° and I have it set at 8° in the chip as well I think. I don't believe I messed with PE yet. Here's my bin since I'm kinda green at this and might be giving you false info.

Yeah, the base timing is what is under the hood and the PE timing is how much is added when in PE mode. However, it doesn't look like too much timing in the main table that the stock PE spark would throw it out of whack. My guess would be that the damper has slipped causing erronous base timing readings. Even if the damper is new or almost new I would do a TDC check on it. Of course it could also be false knock readings that could be caused by a number of things, maybe even RFI.

From I can see already is you're adding 9.1 degrees of timing at 3200 RPM in P/E mode. That's A LOT. I'd say back it down to about 2-3 and see if it does. Then increase it slowly. BTW this is in the "Power Enrigh Spark Advance vs. RPM" table.

Bingo, did it. It worked. I took that 9° out at 3200rpm and am running fine.
Made alot of other changes using some advice I got too.

thanks.

John: Are you running EGR with your setup? If not, I think you are too advanced in the mid load region(40-80kPa) and 1800-2600 rpm. I recently tuned in my 383 with no EGR and it will not tolerate 34 deg table advance, remember, that is 42 degrees total advance with your 8 deg base timing. The EGR slows down the burn rate in the combustion chamber so you need to add in advance. That is how the factory setup works, I had to modify my spark tables significantly when I disabled my EGR. Your numbers at 95-100kPa look fine, but you add LOTS of advance in as you move down in kPa.

I'm not running an EGR, I did turn down all that advance. All is working much better, nothing like making changes at will. Thanks for the reminder.
