New to tuning

im new to tuning. I have read for a week now or so and I got the logist of it. Any help will be appreciated. I have 1991 Pontiac firebird. I installed a truck 350 tbi motor. I used my 700 transmission. Installed a 2000 stall. Open long tube headers into a 3 inch cherry bomb. I installed a gu6 g80 from a 2001 into it. So speed mph is way off. I have a 7747 ecu.

so what to do next.

Re: New to tuning

I purchased autoprom from Moates. The whole kit and g2 adapter. I soldered in adaptor myself. Anyway. I used for monitoring work perfect. I used $42. Definitions. the problem when I went to emulate. I hooked up everything. Car running fine. Then ribbon cable from ecu to autoprom started smoking. I unhooked very quickly. I found far wire opposite of red striped wire is then one that got hot. I got my factory asdu chip back in adapter. Which was a task. But I got back in and car runs fine. I can still monitor. I have contacted Moates theee times about it with no response. I will buy new cable. I know this is do at your own risk. But I’m not sure there isn’t something else wrong. So I have another 7747 board. And a computer buddy. That does nothing but soldering chips in. So I’m taking new board to him to solder. But man my solders looked perfect. He agreed (computer guy). But I am much bigger than him so maybe he just said that lol.

I got email from Moates. More and likely what happened. Is I had my laptop hooked to power at same time as I hooked everything else up. I had no idea I could not have laptop hooked up to power at same time as I emulate.
