aldl Bluetooth adapters

Anyone using aldl Bluetooth adapters, what are your experience with them, I see two out there one from red River and one from 1320 electronics. I can not use my USB aldl cable with my new phone so I am considering one of those blue tooth adapters. Thanks
for any information.

Re: aldl Bluetooth adapters

I have the 1320 adapter in use. Bought it two years ago. Works perfect for me with my 92 with 730 ECM and my 88 with 165 ECM.

I have both the Moates and the 1320 BT. I prefer the Moates. I had more connection dropouts with the 1320. I still have some with the Moates but far less. Still, the 1320 is pretty slick.

Re: aldl Bluetooth adapters

I haven't hooked up the WB to the BT adapter from 1320 yet but I did some data logging with it and seems more reliable than the old aldl usb cable from reddevilriver that I have had for years, I had no drop outs and clean data, with the usb cable I would have data spikes and it would suddenly just stop data logging. So far with the aldl blus tooth adapter I have had none of those proplems, Now I just need to figure out the WB hook up, looks easy just to hot out to try it at this time, I am a little confused about what wire to use coming from my AEM WB the white 0-5v output or the Blue Serial Output.

Re: aldl Bluetooth adapters

OK got he WB to log, I used the white wire from the WB to the orange white wire on the RJ-45 cable and then had to set the switches on the blue tooth adapter to 1 and 3 up and 2 and 4 down. Big thanks to John at 1320 for the help.

Re: aldl Bluetooth adapters

The drop-out's that Tootie Pang mentioned are a problem with the 7165 ECM. They occur during live data logging on all adapters. It has nothing to do with the Moates or the 1320 adapter.

Re: aldl Bluetooth adapters

so far I have not had any drop outs with the 1320 BT adapter, I always thought it was a problem with the CCM interrupting data from the ecm.

Re: aldl Bluetooth adapters

Using the Red River BT. Once connected its very solid. Sometimes I need to disconnect and re-connect a couple of times before it ON. I find disabling WiFi on the tablet is helpful to maintaining connection.
