I would start with a 305manual fbody bin, do not start with an auto, the car will never seem right again. I've been there and done that.

What about the AYPY bin? I thought I heard somewhere that it is the manual transmission equivalent of the ARAP bin. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because my friend was planning on running that bin on his '88 Vette after he swaps in a 6 speed.

Oops I meant APYP not AYPY. That one was from a full size truck. APYP is from an '89 six speed Corvette. That's the one you want.

The 89 Vette used MAF and the manual tranny BINs were for the ZF6. Remember though that the Vettes got stacked with Al heads so you will need work right away with the spark curves. -Matt-

You can find it on the DIY_EFI ftp site. The bcc for the '89 Vette 6 speed bin is APYP

I just checked the APYP bin, TunerCat says it's for an automatic transmission not a manual like all ya'll are saying.

You sure about that? Maybe you got a hacked copy or something.

Positive. I got the bin right from DIY database. The "manual transmission" box is NOT checked.

Hmmm, I got mine there too, and it was. What does your copy have in for TCC?

I've got 2 copies of APYP. I think that at least one of them came from DIY EFI. Both copies have the manual transmission switch checked.

The copy of APYP I just downloaded again from diy-efi doesn't have the manual trans box checked and the TCC lock/unlock settings are 0 mph.

That's odd that the TCC lock/unlock settings are 0mph if it's not a manual-transmission BIN. I'm guessing that somebody's messed with that copy.

Check the TDF version (assuming you're running TunerCat) as the older TDFs definitely had the wrong address location for transmission bit.

The current TDF version numbers are listed on his site, if yours is older (and a legal copy) as for an update.

Yes, seems odd. APYP is supposed to be a manual transmission bin for an '89 Vette. Yet the option flags are set for an auto trans.

Did that year Vette w/a 6-spd have skip shift? It is possible that the TCC code is being used to handle the skip shift solenoid.

Just another thought,

RBob.

My TDF is way out of date. I will get the latest version and try.

all the manual trans MAF bins I have seen have not have the manual trans box checked. I used the APYP with MAF and T56. It is similar to the ARAP for autos.
