Is this hard?

To wire a switch to pop my hatch?

IT is a big inconvienience o get out and pop it becasue i have to turn off my car.

dtpmike, I hope someone else chimes in here because I am no expert but I think you will at least need a hatch release motor and assembly. You will need the switch and I suspect that there is a relay in the line that the switch fires.

I would go to a wrecking yard and get the parts you need from a donor car.

i glanced at the article, but it was for 91-92 Firebirds so i dont know if its the same. I am jsut curios if I can do it. Also why isnt my pic in my sig workign?

The camaros and firebirds were available with an optional interior hatch release. Go to the junk yard and find one that has it and swipe the switch in the dash and the actuator on the motor in the trunk. You can also buy an aftermarket actuator and switch and wire it yourself, but the stock setup will be easier. Your wiring harness should already have the plugs in the center console and in the back.

i did this to my 1986 camaro sport coupe
it had the power hatch before hand, and i added the switch myself - if you need anyhelp with this, i came accross quite a few solutions to get it to work -- email me at jlh8003@tntech.edu if you want and info on my installation and if you need help finding the release module
