Clifford Alarm
Clifford Alarm
OK, it's a SE 2020 (probably as old as the car..lol). ANyways, I got my car back from the bodyshop yesterday (sent car in with alarm power disconnected). Hookup alarm - doesn't work. Power is supplied..no arm / disarm no doors locking...nothing.
The only thing that happens is the dash mount LED stays ON and sort of flicks every second or so. Toggle switch does nothing as well. I've tried everything...checked all wires and everything looks good.
THE KICK: THe body shop took apart my passenger door to fix it up. Perhaps they may have left something undone? I don't see how since the power lock relays are located on the drivers side just in front of the door (I THINK). HMmm, maybe the passenger relay is located on the passenger side? naa, I think they're both behind the driver side kick panel..correct?
Power locks work perfect when using the factory door switch.
Any help is apprciated.

"professional" alarm installs often leave a lot to be desired. scotchlocks, crimp connectors, twisting the wires together without soldering are all common practices and can cause problems a few years down the road.
on older alarm installs, it's often easier to remove the entire alarm from the car and start from scratch. a lot of alarms now include remote start, which is very nice in the cold winter months. but do not attempt to install remote start on a manual tranny car, it's for automatic transmission vehicles only.
anyways, an alarm install color code guide for thirdgens is avaliable in this thread:

I appreciate the input but I've got a starter alarm in my progete5 (5spd). My brother has one in his Delsol and civic (both stick cars). They do exist.
Thanks for the thread.
