just killed 2 batteries

Ok, this is frustrating me. Sunday morning and evening my car was working fine, but then I went to start it again on Sunday evening, turned the key all the way, and nothing. All the lights went out and everything. So I tried to jumper it off, and still nothing. So I took the battery and bought a new one, put it in, cranked it up just fine yesterday. I went to start it again today, and the exact same thing happens. What the heck is going on here?

One thing that's freaking me out is I wired up my own cooling fans w/their own switch and circuit, and they still work even w/their higher amp draw, but not even the interior lights come on anymore!

Well, I went back out and played w/it some more b/c I have nothing better to do and it's irritating the fire out of me, and I found something out. I messed around w/a test light and found out that I was getting voltage across the battery terminals, so I tested inside the car and the light came on very dim. So just to try something out I unplugged the car from the battery terminal and unplugged my fans from that also. After a minute I plugged the car back in and it sparked (it wasn't earlier) so I cranked it up and it started like it normally does, so I drove it and came back, checked for ground faults on my fans and didn't find any, plugged them back to the battery (after turning the car off), and turned the fans on--they worked, so I tried the car again, and it worked again too.

Did I reset something (besides the ecm & my radio!) when I unplugged the battery? Any ideas as to what's going on here?

Thanks!

sounds like you fixed a loose connection at the battery

I checked the connections at the battery and they were tight before. I was getting a little power inside the car, but not enough to fully light all the bulbs and stuff. But whatever...it's working ok for now......
