Electric problem

I'm not getting any power to my car 89 (pontiac GTA).Car would not start, no light, radio, nothing. The only thing that is working is the dome lights when u open the car.I figured it would have to do something with my starter.I check under my car and there is a black wire right above the starter and right below the headers, does anyone know whatis it?

The problem may be your starter solenoid. that has the neutral/clutch safety switch in it.

Sounds like a battery problem. Like it is drained and only has enough power to run the dome lights, try the head lights at night and see how bright they are, if dim, it's the battery, if bright, another problem

The starter solenoid does not have the neutral safety or clutch start switch located in it. The NSS is located in the console, connected to the shifter mechanism, and the clutch start switch is located behind the clutch pedal lever.

Sounds like an ignition switch or ignition switch feed problem. There are three fusible links connected to the large lug on the starter solenoid. One feeds power to the ignition switch (and some accessories), & the other two are for the exterior lights (and some other accessories) & the alternator sense input.
