Whant to Make Car Simple

Here is what I wanna do. I have an 86 camaro 305 V8, auto,pw,pl,ps,tilt, power hatch, air. What I wanna do is make the car simple, I want to remove all eccess sensores, and bull$hit, all I want is the power windows, heat, stereo, hatch, tac, speedo, oil, gas, temp, volts, guages to work. And of course lights. I just want a simple engine and not a bunch of wires and relays running every which way, that will eventualy give me problems. So back to the question what relays and such can I get rid of and still have a car that will start right up and perform.

There are very few sensors and relay you can remove and have the car run right. That engine and computer were ment to have everything it has working. The best way to simplfy a car is pull the motor and computer and the computer harnesses. Put in an older motor from the 60's from likr a 1st gen firebird camaro or a 60's vette. You will need no sensors and will be able to keep your guages and power windows heat, ect.

327 Firebird is right. I just swapped out my tbi for a carb, the only relay i have left is the fuel pump relay. You will lose some effiency however. MPG will drop about 9-13%. You'll also need to change the distributor, and intake system.. ie.. no tpi or fuel injection. It's NOT a cheap swap, depending upon your opinion of cheap that is. About $1000.00 IF you can find an inexpensive motor or if you use stock distributor and an inexpensive carb.

Um, I'm sure they made the car as simple as they possibly could. No one at General Motors says "Hey, let's spend a bunch of money on all these relays and throw them in people's cars for the hell of it."

Besides that, even if you could do stuff to make the car simpler, it would be very difficult to design your new system as well as the factory did theirs...so theirs would still be more reliable.
