speedometer hookup
speedometer hookup
I need help to hook up my factory electronic speedometer. It's an '86 Trans Am. I removed the original carbureted wiring harness which had the plugs to connect the speedometer. I've tried to hook it up, but with out any luck. Do i still need the buffer box? please help.

You will need the VSS buffer. The VSS on the transmission feeds the VSS buffer, and the VSS buffer drives the speedo in the cluster, and the cruise control module - if you have cruise control.

Thanks for your response. I tried to hook up the VSS buffer already, but nothing happened. I do not have cruise control. What else should I try?
