START with the multifunction lever!
they are cheaper than most of the parts youre talkin about and they are usually the first to go.

actually I mean the whole stalk thing.
what most people call "the blinker stick"
to replace it is kind of a bi**h but they are really cheap from pick your part or you can just go to a parts store and pick one up for like 50$
then the fun part is getting the Cruise control wire down through the steering coulmn. I messed it up so now I just run it along side and it doesnt look that bad.

by the way i got a complete steering collum and ignition key out of another 89 TA....( and i know the switch in this one is good) but when i tried to install it.. the car wouldnt start. i think the vats in collum#2 isnt compatable with the original... how could i get the #2collum to work with the car? ...is there a way to test the switch with the collum out of the car with a multimeter or sumthin?? if i could just swap out the while whole collum that i know works then i can move on to the next thing.... thanks
