Remote Starter/Vats problem
Remote Starter/Vats problem
OK, I was reading in the manual for my Remote Starter and it listed a way to bypass VATS by wrapping wire around a spare key and the lock cylinder or something where that it would only bypass the VATS when you used the remote starter. Could someone explain this to me and possibly give me an easier way? It's the only problem i expect I'll have w/ the remote starter/keyless entry system.

Your alarm should have came with 15 resistors. One will match the key ohms. This gets wired in under the dash. But this also disables VATS 100% of the time.

So what is VATS is disabled! It's been around too long and just about everybody knows how to bypass it with basic electronic knowledge. Even drug rehab rejects usually know about the single piece of electronics (can't post the actual name because many think it'll help theaves) that can bypass VATS. If you're installing a remote starter why not go with something like the avital avistart 6500 which comes with a starter disabler. It saved my car even though the VATS was disabled.

You have to use a relay to temporarily bypass the VATS while the engine is being cranked by the remote starter. This will disable the system only when it recieves a signal from the remote start unit for the car to be started.E-mail if you would like wiring info.
