Arching plugs

Here is the problem. On two spark plugs there are sparks jumping from between the boot and the insulation to the metal on the plug.
I have an MSD6, MSD GM coil, Holley Annihillator 9mm spiral wound wires, and Bosch Platinum plugs. I used the silicone grease that came with the wires, the wires and boots are OK, and no sparks anywhere else.
The question is what can be done to keep the spark from jumping out of the boot. The boots fit very snug around the plugs too.
Any ideas?

You could have gotten too much dielectric grease on the plug and the spark is just taking the least path of resistance (through the grease to the metal on the plug). Or there may be small cracks in the boots that the spark is getting through. I would check all the boots again and remove some of the grease. Another thing could be a cracked spark plug.

Hope this helps some,
Brian

the spark from the coil is a very high voltage and if needed it will take the path o fleast resistance even if it means right through your plug boots. i agree with TopForm make sure there is not an excess of the grease on the plugs or boots. to check if the plugs are cracked i would swap plugs with a different cylinder and see if it still happens. if yes wipe off the grease.

Well the plugs are brand new and so are the wires, and they checked out good. I had Rapidfire plugs on it before and one of them was cracked and the sparks were a lot worse. I will clean off some of the excess grease and see what happens.
Thanks
