were is the govener in a 83 z28 with 305 motor?
id like to find it and rip it out of my car, id like to find it but i dont know were it is, does any 1 know were its located? thanx for the help if any 1 replys

What govenor are you talking about? Do you mean a speed govenor? I don't believe there is one in an 83 car. If you mean the transmission govenor, I would leave it where it is.

The early thirdgens didn't have a speed governor, I think not until TPI and later TBI came out.
The only thing really governing your speed is the 3>4 servo in the automatic trannys, the stock one doesn't let it shift into 4th at more than about 1/2 throttle. There is an upgrade kit for this, but if you're unfamilar with auto transmissions either have a pro do it or read up on it 'studiously' and tackle it yourself, i've heard it's not the easiest novice project.
If you've got a manual tranny, you've got nothing to worry about.
