Oil pressure sending unit.

My oil pressure sending unit went out, its a digital dash, the gauge reads zero, where is the unit and whats it gonna cost. Thanks.

It's located right above the oil filter, on the block. You'll need the 1 3/16 socket for it, or some other large tool. If I recall, the cost on a new one is about $25-30. It's bee awhile since I replaced mine...

you can get these sending units at autozone for $25. don't bother getting one at a recycling yard, you'll get a lot more mileage out of a new sending unit.

Actually, in '87, I believe that the oil pressure gauge sending unit is located at the rear of the block, below the distributor. The sender above the oil filter is an oil pressure switch, used in parallel with the fuel pump relay, to operate the fuel pump. I'm not sure what year GM combined the oil pressure sending unit with the fuel pump switch.

Yep, it's right below the intake manifold in the back closer to the drivers side... I think it's around $15

prolly the same spot. no guarantee...

The one in the block was used for the fuel pump switch in the later years.
